Welcome to the Division of Nursing and Paramedic Science at ¹ú²úÂÒÂ×. Here you will find information on the variety of nursing and health-related programmes currently available at ¹ú²úÂÒÂ×.  Over the years, the nursing portfolio has rapidly grown and today a variety of nursing and health-related programmes are on offer. 

Division of Nursing and Paramedic Science - passionate about person-centred practice
The nursing team at ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× is nurturing, supportive, developmental, challenging and engaging. We are passionate about excellent person-centred and evidence-informed practice. Along with our nursing and other health-related undergraduate and postgraduate courses, we are engaged in a range of impactful research projects.

Relevant teaching and research
To help ensure that our teaching and research is relevant, we run the division as a ‘Clinical Academy’. This means that academic staff have clinical practice positions in the NHS and elsewhere, and that expert clinical nurses share teaching responsibilities with academics. 

Excellent specialist facilities
Our facilities for nursing students included a fully equipped clinical simulation suite, where they can practice their skills in a safe environment.   As ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× provides the broadest range of allied health professional courses in Scotland, we are well placed to ensure that our nursing students learn to work effectively as a team with other health professionals.

Educating the leaders of the future
Unlike at some other universities, the lowest level nursing qualification we offer is an honours degree. This means that, as well as being fully practice ready, our graduates have a strong academic background that makes them particularly prepared to be leaders of tomorrow. (For Paramedic Science, the degree is not an honours degree, reflecting the needs of the profession.)

An international footprint
We have a strong international footprint, and are influencing the development of the nursing profession across the world, with students studying for ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× nursing qualification at our partner institutions overseas.
