As the Programme Leader for the undergraduate Speech and Language programmes, I am dedicated to fostering a strong sense of belonging among students while equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for contemporary speech and language practice. With over 25 years of experience as a speech and language therapist, I have specialised in working with neurodivergent children and young people.
My teaching, research, and knowledge exchange activities centre on the role of speech and language therapists in supporting neurodivergent children and young people. In addition to my academic responsibilities, I work part-time with the , where I contribute their work understanding and implementing changes in health, education and employment to support neurodivergent people to participate and have positive experiences. I also have a strong background in transnational education and serve as the Collaborative Academic Link for our Speech and Language Therapy programmes in Greece. My current scholarly interests focus on developing compassionate and dialogic approaches to teaching, which I believe are essential for effective and inclusive education.
