Alice McGrath is a Lecturer in Arts Management and Cultural Policy, within the Media, Communication & Performing Arts Division at ¹ú²úÂÒÂ×, Edinburgh. She is also the Programme Lead for the Arts, Festivals and Cultural Management course. Alice is a member of the Oxford Cultural Leaders Alumni Network, The Federation of Scottish Theatre and a-n The Artists Information Company.

Alice joined ¹ú²úÂÒÂ× in 2021 and currently teaches on 2 programmes: Film and Media undergraduate and the MA Arts, Festivals and Cultural Management. Â
Alice is an experienced arts manager, facilitator, consultant and mentor. She works with individual artists and arts organisations on a range of collaborative projects. Her practice includes supporting and collaborating with artists; facilitating dialogue, strategy development and creative processes; and producing cultural events.
Alice is the founder and Creative Director of Red Bridge Arts a producing company that provides a supportive structure to stimulate and sustain artists’ development and practice. Throughout her career Alice has held a variety of roles in Scottish arts including Strategy Development Lead with Federation of Scottish Theatre; Executive Producer at Scottish Dance Theatre; Creative Learning Events Producer for Creative Scotland; Director of Creative Development, Participation and Research at Macrobert Arts Centre; and Creative Development Director at Imaginate.Â
Active Research Interests
I am interested in developing research looking at sustainability for artists and in arts organisations.
Alice currently teaches across a range of modules on under-graduate and post-graduate programmes providing insights on Creative Entrepreneurship, Evaluating Arts Projects, and Finance and Management for the Arts. She also supervises post-graduate research on a broad variety of topics related to the management of cultural organisations and festivals
