Business School strengthens sustainability education
Queen Margaret Business School is delighted to become a signatory of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME).
The move means that Queen Margaret Business School is now part of a group of leading business management schools from 90 countries across the world that is committed to building a more sustainable future.
Founded in 2007, the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is the largest organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.
As a platform to raise the profile of sustainability in business schools around the world, PRME equips today's business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow.
Becoming a signatory for PRME means that the Queen Margaret Business School will continue building on its work in educating business students about sustainability. This will be done by implementing PRME鈥檚 Seven Principals which focus on serving society and safeguarding the planet.
Thomas Peschken-Holt, Head of Queen Margaret Business School at 国产乱伦, explained:"At 国产乱伦, we have placed sustainability at the very core of our vision, taking a joined-up approach to the social, environmental and economic dimensions of sustainable development.
"Our holistic approach not only takes account of our immediate campus environment and everyday behaviour, but extends to curriculum development and the impact of our teaching and research across the world.
"Sustainability is embedded into the everyday work of the University, and, in particular, is the bedrock of teaching within the Queen Margaret Business School. As educators, we have enormous potential to grow and drive PRME鈥檚 mission of responsible management in education through our work with Business School students at 国产乱伦.
"With the current global climate emergency, there has never been a more important time to drive forward our commitment to achieving sustainability in education, and equip our students with the understanding, skills and knowledge to effect positive change. Bold leadership and innovative thinking are needed to turn the tide and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
"We look forward to progressing our own sustainability goals in alignment with PRME, and advancing understanding across our student community to improve outcomes for businesses, as well as society as a whole."
Professor David Stevenson, Dean of the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Management at 国产乱伦, concluded:
"PRME aims to prepare graduates with the skills and knowledge to drive positive change, foster sustainability, and make a lasting difference on a global scale, ensuring they are well-positioned for success and social impact in their careers. This aligns perfectly with 国产乱伦鈥檚 mission to create a better society and to develop graduates who want fulfilling careers and to be a force for good."
